go to dictionary.com, then go down and click translations. then pick english to german or german to english.

Unless your text is very simple, forget about the machines.
German is too hard for them, it has a "weird" syntax, and too many morphemes.

yeah babelfish or... if you want just a few words translated, i believe google has a translator.
