I'm not sure, but I think a lot of people on here are confusing Clozapine with Klonopin (generic name clonazepam, which is a benzo, anti-anxiety medication in the valium family.)
Clozapine is a strong and very effective medication, usually used as a "last resort" when many other medications have failed to work, with significant side effects (especially weight gain). From what I know it requires weekly blood tests.

clonazepam is throw of drug from valium just a little milder. It kinda numbs your nervous system a bit so that you dont react as easily with panic. It helps for about7/10 hrs but fades away and more times then not your panic will come back a bit worse 2 days down the road. It help though if you have no way out of your situation

Clozapine is a benzo. if u read up on it its a type of Valium. Just basically calms you down so you wont be so "panicy" or "anxious"If youre wary of this try asking if you can take ativan instead. it doesn't stay in your system as long just a few hours compared to somewhere round 12 or 24 hours. forgot which. I hope this helps.

Clozapine is an anti-psychotic. Didn't you ask your doctor why they prescribed this for you? That's who you need to ask.
