Hey, it's almost New Years. What a great time to make a resolution to lose weight! I wish you the best of luck in it.
You really have to look at two areas of your life and adjust them to match your goals:
* Diet
* Exercise
You simply can't get around these two facts. You have to consume fewer calories than you burn each day to loose weight. So if you don't change your diet, then you'll have to exercise more. Frankly, it's easier to adjust both things. Eat less, or eat smarter and exercise moderately. You don't have to go overboard. A 20 minute walk around the block is exercise.
Find someone who can share the goal with you. Another overweight friend who will walk with you. That helps a lot. You can encourage each other.

Keeping hydrated is good. Drinking that much water will help you to lose weight. It fills the stomach. However, drinking too much will give you a pot belly. But don't drink on an empty stomach. If you feel like having a snack, it's good to drink water. But if you're honestly hungry and need a meal, drinking just water might mess up your stomach. I've gotten sick from drinking too much water (and I make a habit of drinking at least 60 oz a day).

Not True
Eating less calories than your body burns is the only way to lose weight. It's very simple science and math.
Getting rid of high calorie junk foods will help you lose weight. One pound is about 3,500.
Eat healthy foods, they tend to have far fewer calories.
Stop drinking sodas and other fruit juices... unless it's 100% real fruit juice. Drinking water instead of soda will help you lose weight because you are reducing calories.
Good Luck

Water Menu For Weight Loss
Many of us know that keeping our bodies well hydrated is essential for good health and for weight loss. Drinking 6 to 8 glasses of water every day is recommended and yet many people find this difficult to do.
If you are one of the many people who find it difficult to drink water, here is a program easily followed to ensure you are well hydrated every single day.
When you wake up you will often be thirsty because your body loses water while you are sleeping through breathing and perspiration. Drink a large glass of water with a slice of lemon for zing.
Drink another glass of water with breakfast or a cup of herbal tea before setting off the day.
Mid morning - snack on a piece of juicy fruit such as orange, rockmelon, watermelon, cantaloupe, honey dew. Have a glass of water and perhaps try a dash of herbal aloe juice which is wonderfully soothing to the digestive system.
Lunch - think of soup or have a glass of water before your meal, or perhaps a herbal tea.
Mid afternoon - While you are preparing your evening meal, drink a glass of water and snack on some crunchy fresh vegetables.
Evening - Sip a glass of water before your meal with a dash of your favourite fruit juice for flavour.
After dinner - before bedtime drink your final glass of water and sleep well!
Now here's the really exciting part - you may notice a reduction in inches and centimetres, as you body's water store become redundant and so decrease. You may need to 'spend a penny' more but the results will be worth it.

It flushes out the toxins and hydrates you making your body work more efficiently. it can make you feel fuller so you do not eat as much, but more that 8 8oz glasses a day is not necessary unless you exercises a lot. but water it self does not cause you to lose weight and exercise speeds up the process along with a healthy diet. to lose weight you need to burn more calories than you consume

If you are serious about losing weight, the calories
in the food you eat should be less than the
energy you use. You will have to increase your
metabolic rate and plan your diet carefully.
Formulate your own weight loss plan and you will
lose weight faster. More details available at
