They are VERY bad... You will die early from Trans-Fats.
Also Note... Health labels for foods only have to state if.... Trans Fats are more than 1/2 gram or more per serving.
So foods that are labeled Zero Trans Fats... Can still have 1/2 grams per serving. What many companies did.... was lowered the serving amount so they could advertise Zero.
Some chips have serving size as low as 7 chips. Eat 70 chips and you just ate 35 grams of Trans Fat... from a package listed as Zero.
Please pass on the Trans Fat rules... in your future posts... Your have the power to Help Save Lives.

No they are WORSE.
see it keeps it fresh in the store longer, but what happens is that once your body breaks it down, it has a tendancy to become solid again in your body, thus clogging your arteries and bieng stored as fat.
High Fructose Corn Syrup should also be avoided like the plague, studies show that you are 80% more likely to get diabetes with this in your diet than if you used regular sugar. Regular sugar is not good for you either but it is no where near as damaging to you as HFCS.

As retired chemist who has followed the situation for over 30 years, my reply to your question is probably worse. The hydrogenation process creates such a hodge-podge of material that it would take one over a year to identify all of the components in the mixture.
