could have been the sugar. But if you normaly walk alot, and eat those then there whould not have been a large reaction like that. I suggest you talk to a nurse, and take it easy next time.

Your blood pressure can drop during pregnancy. From months 5-7 your body produces the greatest amount of blood. By the 7 month mark you have 50% more blood than usual. It takes time for your heart to acclimate to all that extra work.
Its unlikely that its related to gestational diabetes, since its not really an accurate reaction to the sugar in the pies, although its not impossible.
Its more likely that your heart had gotten quite the work out on your jaunt, and once you got home your blood pressure went bazerk.
The pressure of the baby pushing your guts into your rib case can also cause a vasal vegal (that spellings not right, but the words sound like that) reaction in a lot of women. which is like a panic attack, and not a risk to anyone envolved.
Next time, walk slower, take breaks, and DRINK LOTS OF WATER.
even a ten minute walk is a work out when 5 months pregnant.

Alway, always call your doctor. If you are only five months you haven't had your glucose test yet. It may have been a drop in your blood sugar levels. Call your doctor and tell him what happened. They may want to do the test early. Even if you are not diabetic before pregnancy you can develop symptoms during pregnancy that make it more difficult for your body to process sugars.
I was borderline diabetic with all of my pregnancies. You can go on a number of websites to get info about diet changes. You don't always have to cut out sugar you just have to be more aware of how much you , and what kind of foods you eating.
www.baby.com is a wealth on info and parenting information. Do utilize your ob/gyn and nursing staff.

Yes, it might have been the apple pie. Apples generally make a pregnant woman feel ill. Try turning on a fan, lying down, and drinking a glass of water.

Hey
I also experienced that as well...well when I was 5 months pregnant and I was told that it was totally normal mainly because the baby is taking the things it needs from the food you just ate...which can drain you. Maybe that apple pie wasn't enough for your little one so he or she tapped into whatever else was left over......believe me I know how you felt....and yes it is totally normal...hope you are feeling better and congratulations on your little one.

You need to have your sugar checked by your doctor( You have to drink a sugar drink then they draw blood). You may be experiencing diabetes brought on by your body changes that can return to normal after pregnancy.

Has your doctor done any blood sugar tests? Sometimes pregnancy can affect how your body responds to sugar and your symptoms sound like that might be what happened to you.
