Are you on any new medication? Have Thyroid problems? lost weight recently? had a baby? These things contribute to hair loss and some go away with time (ex. baby) but if it bothers you a lot, get the Nioxin shampoo and conditioner (right now there are christmas sets at Trade Secrets for 26.99 for the duo). It cleanses the scalp to clear hair follicles and encourages blood to come to the surface of your scalp to promote hair growth. A lot of people do find that it works well for them but if you try it and still find yourself unsatisfied, go to your doctor.

If you're not already doing so, try taking a daily multi-vitamin. You can lose hair (and also, your nails will become fragile and break easily, your skin will not look as healthy, etc.) if you're not getting all the vitamins and minerals you need. Age, of course, has a lot to do with hair loss, and you may be genetically prone to "balding" of sorts, but I'd still try a multi-vitamin to make sure your body is getting all the goodies it needs!

A lot of times hair loss is caused by a hormone DHT. There are some shampoos like Nioxin (found in most hair salons) which safely remove the hormone DHT and promote hair growth.

If you have a lot of hormones running through your system, your hair falls out. A lot. And if it's falling out in clumps, you might have cancer, so check with your doctor.
It could also be that your hair is long and it's more noticable when it comes out. Long hair has a tendency to fall out more than short hair. Don't ask me why.
And, of course, if you are over the age of 30, hair WILL fall out. What a pain, huh?
Hope that info was helpful!

Try Nixon for your hair. My mom has been using it for awhile now and she's had great results with it. Recently I brought it up to my hair dresser to get her opinion on the shampoo and she told me that she uses it herself and she won't use anything different anymore. I've started using it but I've only used it for about 2 weeks now so I'm not seeing any results yet but everyone I've spoken to about this says it's the best. It doesn't hurt to try it, and hopefully it'll work for you. Good luck!
