picasa from google labs.

very easy to use, easy navigation of all of your images.
you will like it a lot, and it is free.

it does backups of your images very easy,
works with your email to make it easy to share photos

photoshop is the most powerful but it cost($600-800) and it is not easy to use in comparison to picasa.
(I love photoshop but it is not the best for quick edits like red eye, color correction, and cropping)

picasa is what you are looking for.

I use Jasc Paintshop Pro., which was purchased to Corel recently. It has many nice features and is pretty easy to use. The link to get a demo is lisyted below.

If you want a free app which is good, I would recommend: PhotoPlus 6.0 found at http://graphicssoft.about.com/gi/dynamic/offsite.htm?zi=1/XJ&sdn=graphicssoft&zu=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.freeserifsoftware.com

double ryans post.

Picasa must be the most easiest editing program in the whole world.

Another one to try is XNVIEW - it's free and not as easy as picasa but it has much deeper functions.
