If you don't know how to wax, it's very harmful. You can actually lift off several layers of skin, causing trauma and abrasions to the area. (Not attractive on the bikini area). Find someone who waxes for profession, it's the best way to go... truly. It's next to impossible to wax your own bikini area ... it's been done, but it's extremely painful doing it yourself.

Plucking (tweezing), Shaving, Depilatory creams and Waxing are temporary hair removal methods.
Waxing usually lasts for 3 weeks, but it is painful.

I tried waxing myself, and it was way more painful, messier and took longer than going to a salon, I also got worse ingrown hairs. Its not really that embarrassing to get someone to do it for you, and you will be amazed by the difference.

I was considering getting the same thing... but as 'embarrassing' as it might feel - I'm going to a professional. There's NO WAY that I want to make a mistake that I'll regret in that area...

i really hope you go to a professional. not only can it hurt, but you can end up with infection and stuff, if you have sensitive skin. treat yourself to a bikini wax, at a professonal, you'll love it, hurts but feels hot after!!

Not harmful but your skin may get irritated or get little bumps just like from shaving.

You might end up with some ugly looking in-grown hairs. Try it when you have no special occassions coming up.
