Know what you're saying? Should do, you said it fifteen times. The brand you're babbling about is Canon, not cannon; the latter is an artillery piece used in warfare. Go to a camera shop and ask them to show you all their cannons. By the way, it is foolish to settle on one brand without knowing anything. What's wrong with Sony? Olympus? Nikon?

A620 is excellent. I had the A70 before that. Reason I went for the 620 is because it has 4 batteries rather than 2 which means the flash recharges quicker, less shutter lag etc. and you can also get extra lenses for this model. With some of the cheaper ones, you don't have the option of extra lenses.

I have a Powershot G6. It has fast start-up, great LCD screenw hich can swivel in an direction, takes great pictures, has 6megapixel capability, has a tonne of features, and adaptable lenes so you can buy tele lens, or macro lens, etc. I'm v happy with it. It has great handling at your fingertips.
It's not a small, pocket camera type, though... in case that's what you were after.

I bought a Power Shot SD400 last year and it's great. Nice clear pics and is small enough for my purse so I always have it with me.

The A530 or the A540 are excellent choices and they are easy on batteries.
