Ugh- If I roast them, I can't get the inner membrane off. If I boil them, same thing. I've taken peeling the outer shell before boiling, but that's so time confusing. What am I doing wrong?

I am not sure this will help but my husband always made two slits in the skin before roasting so he could peel them open easily.

You could put them on a pan and the oven and then try. Or put them in a pot over a fire. Those were just geusses. Whats a chesnut? I had a dog named that once,he got hit by a car.....
