I know that the release of Oxytocin during sexual intercourse assists in feeling "close" to a sexual partner, just as it helps to bond with babies during breastfeeding. So does Oxytocin get released during masturbation, and does this make you bond with yourself??

Yes oxytocin is realeased in masturbation, but you don't bond with yourself. Your psyche doesn't know who it should bond with, so you end up bonding with imaginary people. You masterbate enough, it affects your sex life. Studies have shown that men who masturbate are more likely to fantasize about other women during real sex. Whereas oxytocin is supposed to make you bond with your partner, in masterbation it can make you feel impersonal to others.
