HOW DO YOU KNOW YOU HAVE THE RIGHT SIZE ADAPTER WHAT IS IT YOU GO BY TO TELL WHETHER IT FITS THE CONECTION OR WHETHER ITS THE SAME SIZE APS OR VOLTS?

1. The volts have to be right (up to 2 volts off usually won't hurt)
2. The AC/DC part has to be right
2 1/2 - If it's DC the polarity has to be right. (which wire is the outside and which wire is the inside or the plug)
3. The AMPs on the adapter have to be the same or more than what the appliance says it needs.
4. It has to fit.

You can mess up the appliance if it is the wrong adapter. It is also possible, but less likley to mess up the adapter itself.

The adapter has to have the same voltage, polarity, and plug
