You can take certain liquids on an aircraft, but they have to be in a clear plastic bag (no larger then 1 qt). If you go to http://www.tsa.gov/ they have a complete listing on what you can and cannot bring on the aircraft.

Yes you can provided it's no more than 3 Oz's and all the containers fit in a 1 qaurt bag.

I had toothpaste that was in a 7Oz tube, and even thought there was only about 2Oz left, they still trashed it.

You can also carry onto the plane liquids that you purchase in the secure area of the airport. Check TSA website.

You're allowed one 1-qt zip-lock baggie of bottles of liquids or gels, each of which can't be more than 3 oz.
