Well, I should think so--but first, is he on any other medications? First, check those to see if they have any dangerous interactions with xanax. If not, it seems like it should be okay. I'm not a doctor, though, so take this with a grain of salt.

No. Xanax is a benzodiazepine and should not be used by children...it's a very intense drug. It's intended for adult use only...just reassure him, and comfort him! If he's flying alone, you can talk to the airline anad they can have someone keep an eye on him and talk to him, or even just alert the flight attendants that he's really nervous.

I think that the safest thing is to contact a pharmacist in your area and ask! Just tell him the weight of your son and see how much a person that size could handle. If he suggests he not take it you could always see if he has any suggestions as to what else he might could take.

Go to the Drug store and they should have a patch for him to wear , The patches are safer and good up to 48 hours. Other wise see a Dr. and he will tell what is good and what is not.

I would talk to your or his doctor first. I was nervous about a flight and my doctor prescribed something for me and I'm sure they would do the same for him, although I was much older than 15. I really would check with a docor first.

I would not give my children any meds without checking with his doctor. All depends on the child's weight and size for how much mg he can handle.

Only if it has been prescribed to him by a physician. It is illegal to give children or anyone prescription drugs that are not prescribed to them. If he were to have any type of reaction and had to be rushed to the hospital, you could be looking at federal charges.

It will make him very sleepy. They can be VERY addictive and are not meant to be used as a one time tranquilizer. Check with family Dr. Probably give him something to calm him down short term.

Only if you want to teach him that taking pills will solve his problems. I would try to find another way to settle him for the flight. Maybe reading or watching a movie will help keep his mind occupied.

Yes it is. I took xanax at his age and it didn't harm me any. However, you may want to hide the rest of the prescription after you do that because he may like the relaxed feeling it gives him.
