I have marzipan and I'm making small fruits and cut outs for Thanksgiving. I'm using a gel food dye. This is my first time playing with marzipan, and I was wondering, everytime I eat them at weddings and such, they have a sugar coating. How do I get this? I've messed around, but it's not working/looking nice. Any tips? I'm in the process right now as I talk, so any quick answers would be well appreciated!

Thanks to all

When coating with sugar I use a wagner painting machine. You are only supposed to use them for liquids, but I found that sugar can be used also. Put sugar in the food processor till it becomes finer, but not too long or it will become powder. Load it in the painter and speay the whole bunch after coating in gel.

maybe if you try using some warm water and a small paint brush. slightly wet the paintbrush and "paint" the surface of the marzipan just enough to make it slightly tacky and dust the sugar on and let it dry?
