Two days is what is most often advised.

If it is strength training, stretching between the exercises can just about eliminate any after-exercise pain. But it should be the right stretches and they should be undertaken with good form.

yeah, they say 24 hours is enough, just be careful and try to rotate which muscles you work out, for example legs one day, arms the next
