hey my friend has been feeling sick (but she's also a drama queen...so) but anyway, do these symptoms sound like a thyroid problem or something more serious?

-no appetite, but when there is one, after eating a small bit - she feels sick to her stomach
-light-headed and dizzy (sometimes) she's seen spots, too.
-weight loss
-heart racing sometimes
-headaches.

...no, she's not pregnant either. lol

if you could help me out (cause im sick of hearing her complaining) that would be great.
she went to the doctor for tests today...but won't get results for a week or so.

thanks!

I need more info, e mail me thru my answers profile. but so far does not sound like thyroid. where is head is center of pain of headaches? what color spots is she seeing? does she have a tootie fruity taste in her mouth before or after eating? and the biggest question, how fast is her heart rate, around 90 to 110 beats per minute or is it faster than that like 110 to 140, and does her heart feel like it's about to burst through her chest or is it a tight, squeezing feeling?

It could be MANY things or nothing really at all. You say she's a drama queen, then just wait for the results of her test. If they checked her thyroid, you'll know soon enough. Don't start giving her ideas on an Internet-diagnosis. BAD idea. She'll have herself DYING before the turkey's in the oven Thursday. LOL

all of those symptoms can be a result of not eating (maybe diverticulitis) - The most common symptoms of diverticular disease include abdominal cramping, constipation, diarrhea and bloating.

but not eating will cause problems:
if she's not eating, she's going to lose weight and get headaches, will feel light headed because her blood sugar is low and that can make her feel anxious too (heart racing)

Let's see.... YOUR medical degree is from WHERE again? She has a doctor she's already seeing, but YOUR free advice is supposed to help her get through another week waiting for test results? I suspect she'll get everything she's paying for, too.

If you don't want to hear her griping and whining, simply wait till after she gets results before you see her again. YOUR opinion, (or mine, for that matter) doesn't mean a THING towards her diagnosis...

sounds, like purging, laxative abuse, or anorexia. Maybe the doctor will catch on to this, or whatever is wrong. Best wishes to her. You are being a good friend.
