If you're looking for clubs, there is a section in Manhattan that many call "Club Row". On weekends, as many as 35,000 people will be on W 27th Street between 10th and 11th Aves. There's alot of pretentious BS there so review online before you pick a club to go to.

Stick to the Village - either East or West and you will be fine.
There are tons of bars around NYU that you might enjoy. Plus you will also find comedy clubs, live music venues and lots of places to eat. Take the tsubway to (A/C/E or B/D/F/V) to West 4th Street and go from there!
Or try some of the places in the meat packing district - Brass Monkey, Gas Light, Pop Burger.

Go anywhere in the village, they have bars that are open until 4 and 5am. Ask people, then you will find the underground places which are full of all young people, having an awesome time..In the village you will see tons of great spots, on every street, can't miss them!!
Don't be scared to ask!.........Good Luck and have fun!!
