I need to relieve some stress of the holidays starting. What's the worst cooking mishap you've had while trying to get Thanksgiving dinner on the table?

Last year we made Cornish game hens, and at the last minute got called to my family's house. We turned the oven off, and forgot about them for 5 days. You really don't want to see maggots in your oven...trust me.

2 Years ago, I was cooking Thanksgiving Dinner and i had just finished blending the gravy with the hand mixer to make sure it was nice and smooth and i was washing the Hand mixer and i forgot to unplug it from the wall... I was cleaning the blades with my fingers when it turned on and i ended up having to go to the emergency and getting 8 stitches in my finger.

My sister made her first Thanksgiving ham and she said that while it was baking it didn't smell that great. She kept checking it but it wasn't burning or anything like that. When we arrived at her house for dinner and she took the ham out of the oven, we discovered that she had left the plastic mesh wrap on the ham. She even coated the ham before baking with a mustard sauce and didn't notice. Oops!!

My wife left the plastic bag with all of the giblets inside in the Turkey while cooking it (her first attempt). PEE EW! Nothing worse than having a house full of smoke and melted plastic on the inside of your Turkey. I think we ended up having something else, like Spaghetti, instead.

Oh most of us have been there, you know forgetting the bag of giblets in the turkey, until you start removing the stuffing and oops! Out it comes.
