Can I put a lien on United States Navy property. I was hired by a contractor (who was hired by the Navy) to repair a couple of stucco buildings and haven't been paid for my work.

Can I lien the two government buildings?

I am no lawyer (but I did stay in a Holiday Inn last night!), but I would think that you only could if the Navy hired you. I think that your issue would be with the contractor, not the Navy. Again, not positive just thinking it out. Good luck!

I believe the US Federal Government is immune to mechanics liens, les pendis or anything of that nature.

Did you know many federal employees are even exempt from garnishments?

Strange huh?

I think anything that is owed to you should be paid by your employer, and he can put the lien on the building
