Obviously theres no devil trying to possess people, but there are documentation of these things happening. My question is what is really happening. Are these people suffering from some wierd split personality disorder or some other mental condition, help me out.

Some of these dont even make sense. Their is no such thing as demonic creatures that exist on some other plan. In fact other then the bible theres no reason to believe in demons. I think religious people make up demons as a reason not blame themselves for the bad things they do. Show me a demon and not just some delusion freaky person, and ill believe, however he we are in the 21st century and theirs still no reason to be afraid of real demons. Their just myths

I know you may not want to believe it, but there are evil spirits that can take posession of people. I have seen it. And I would encourage you not to be too confident about your opinions on this. There is more out there than you may have encountered, but that doesn't mean they don't exist.

So, if there is no devil or evil spirts then one day, without warning, a perfectly normal human becomes a looney tune. Maybe it's like catching a cold. Or maybe your family blood line is defective and filled with psycho genes and they take hold and without warning you become a psycho too.

That doesn't explain documented cases of people "speaking tounges" they were not trained to speak in and there are cases of this.

The brain is a bunch of electrical charges and possession could be like a computer virus, created with willful intent.

This is not to say that all mental illness is possession and all possession is mental illness.

Using Pavolvian techniques, modern Behvioral modification and pleanty of time I can program you or anyone to walk into anywhere and blow up a vest bomb or raise a machine gun and shoot at anything you see.

I can possess you to control your will.

As I understand it, it's Roman Catholic Jesuit priests who "unofficially" deal with these cases. I fluctuate on belief on the so-called demonic possession. During college me and other classmates watched a b/w film of a young Italian youth who was "possessed" and was being exorcised by a priest. The intensity of it all was absolutely frightening!

But I contrast this with the fact that we don't really hear about such things today. Not in the newspapers or TV news--nowhere. So I don't know what to make of it.

Exorcisms are mainly precticed in the Catholic faith, performed by preists.... many of these preists are trained in exorcisms. What the catholics believe exorcisms to be is not devil possesion but demonic possesion of people that causes many scary and morbid things to happen to the people they posses (they torture them) by horrifying visions, thoughts, dreams, and some physical conditions, and they use different methods to cast these demons out (like different verses from the BIble, Holy water, crucafixes)... I think religion goes alot deeper than what alot of people believe so they try to take science and medical conditions such a pshcyzophrenia and dementia to describe the things that happen to these people. There are alot of websites that describe exocisms more indepth. If you are really interested try googling excorisms or exorcists... Good Luck

The possessions are in fact a demonic possession. An exorcism drives that spirit out of the persons body. Its not necessarily the "devil" but some other evil being.

Excersizing the devil out. It is called spanking.

Jesus delivered people from demonic possession. It just takes the Spoken Word and the Holy Spirit Anointing. God sent his Word & healed us of all diseases. Mary Magdaline had been possessed of 7 demons. Jesus completely healed her.

Yes, evil spirits do enter some souls. Read the Bible. Jesus often cast devils out of people. It is real. All Christians have the power to cast away demons. Certainly do not confuse this with Hollywood movies.

Ther have been documentations of situations where some are "thought" to be possessed by the devil; but honestly, there is no way of knowing if they were really victims of satanism or if they were just mad.

There is no devil or evil spirits. There are mental disorders, though. They were mistaken for possessions frequently...personality disorders or sudden changes particularly. I have yet to hear of a verifiable case where someone was possessed by a supernatural agent.

I find it interesting that as the knowledge of psychology and neurology expanded, cases of "possession" have gotten fewer and fewer. Nonexistent today.

Though once in awhile you hear about how some quack "exorcist" killed somebody while doing their thing.
