Absolutely!

www.davidsbridal.com (not my favorite place, but they have quite a few dresses in sizes 12-28. I think they are overpriced for the designs they carry and the service wasn't impressive).

Two designers that carry gorgeous dresses (I think so, anyway) in designs that are fitted to thin women AND curvier women:

www.alfredangelo.com
www.maggiesottero.com

If you go to their websites you can do a store locator and they will tell you what stores in your area carry their designs. These designers carry dresses that are actually designed to flatter ladies that have curves and they are beautiful dresses!

I don't know what bbw is, but I'm larger than average, and I didn't have any problem getting a wedding dress. Most manufacturers make dresses in larger sizes. However, most of them only have the smaller sizes for you to try on in the store before ordering.

David's Bridal has larger dresses that you can actually try on. However, I would never, ever recommend one of their dresses to a bride, mainly because every single dress is "off the rack" yet you are still paying the price of a "new" dress.

the designer I would recommend is Maggie Sottero. Her dresses are made for real figures and sizes up to 28 (I think). The construction is amazing and her cuts always flatter. Find a retailer in your area by looking at the Maggie Sottero site. Then make an appointment to try some gowns on. When you call ahead- you can give your size or measurements so the sales girl can have a bunch of gowns ready for you to try on when you get there.
You can also try David's Bridal b/c they have gowns in many sizes in store. I have noticed the quality isn't as great, but you should still check it out to see if it's the right fit for you.
Wedding dresses are magic. They transform you. You will feel great when you try the right one on.
Good Luck and Have Fun!

I agree with the girl earlier. You will be so happy with a Maggie Sottero gown. I am a size 16 and paid the same price as a size 3 girl would pay. Maggie gowns are beautiful and very nicely made. Try maggiesottero.com and look at what is available, everything can be made into a plus size. Good luck finding "the one".

Any local bridal shop will be able to take care of you in that department. Be certain to leave yourself plenty of time (larger sizes tend to take a couple of extra weeks and also cost a touch more). Bridal gowns come in ALL sizes, most styles can be purchased up to a size 28 and altered from there.

You shouldn't have a problem finding a wedding dress anywhere...they have sizes to fit any body type. The key is to find a dress that shows off what you're proud of (defined back muscles) and covers other things.

I would check out davids bridal. They have some nice dresses in larger sizes. You do need to try them on because they told me that your dress size is one size larger than your pant size. But guess what, mine was 4 sizes smaller. I would have hated to have ordered it and it have been that big. No alterations could have fixed that gap size.

Alfred Angelo is great!! I'm a 18W and I found an absolutely gorgeous dress. He makes ALL of his dresses in sizes 2-28W. Mine is strapless and super-flattering, even on a BBW like myself!! Best of Luck!!
