All Indian languages are recognized outside of India. There are lists of the languages of India that include Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, etc. As far as expatriate groups go, there are many different Indian languages spoken outside the subcontinent including Awadhi, Bengali, Tamil, Hindi (which is just Urdu written with the Devanagari alphabet), Urdu (which is just Hindi written with the Arabic alphabet), Kashmiri, etc.

Tamil is the classical language of India and an one of the official languages of India.
Tamil is one of the 2 official languages of
Sri lanka

Malay, Tamil and Chinese
Tamil is one of the 4 official languages of Singapore

No doubed here. Actually the question doesnt mean which indian language is widly spoken outside india. It means officially reconised. So clearly the answer is TAMIL language. Because, in india, TAMIL is a first indian language reconised as a classical language of india. Even hindi is a official language of india. next, in sri lanka TAMIL is a official language. In singagore second official language after mandarin. In malaysia education medium language. There has 530 straight tamil schools..in malaysia. In mauritius currency Also got TAMIL, its officially reconised. Even hindi speaking peoples are majority in mauritius.. so dnt think alot. Tamilians population is 90million worldwide. 70million in india. 20million outside india.. TAMIL VAAZHGA... From TAMILAN of malaysia.
