They talk about others to keep the spotlight of themselves. Most people who gossip about hurtful things have or are doing worse things than the others they are talking about. My mother-in-law is one of these people. She thinks if she tells someone elses dirty laundry, it makes her look like a better person than who she's talking about or that people think she doesn't do bad things.

Most people these days don't care about others feelings. I personally hate gossip,and make it a point to not do it. I would rather discuss an issue with the person involved instead of talking about them to other people.

I think its sad that it has come to be this way. For some reason "some-people" have to gossip and put others down, to make themselves better. Which is really sad. I try really hard not to get pulled into those types of conversations or the 'he said' - 'she said' types either.

Some people like to know everything about everybody but most of what they end up knowing is not the truth.Then they pass this great stuff they have found out and some people lesson.That`s why some people get hurt.They need to learn how to stay in their own stuff.

I think, depends how much information you give them and stupid reasons to do so. People has nothing to do or say and every sh*t behind some body's back is like attraction for them and they think they are smart and very intelligent about life.
They are just low class people.

It makes them feel better when they feel like crap. People who gossip have NO self-esteem at all or feelings for others!!
