While my sister was out of work, she took care of my children a few times a week while my husband and I went out. It was a way for us to help her out with money without offending her with a hand out. The kids bonded with her, Now she is working, but she works all the time, and never has time for a visit.

Take your kids to her place once a week. If she is working then it is not good to expect her to come and visit you.

Good luck

that's a tough one. how sad.

this might be a good time to teach them a lesson in life. to always appreciate the ones you love while they're around, because they may not always be around. This lesson applies to more than when a loved one passes away. sometimes we take for granted the people we love will always be there for us. then sometimes they get busy or move away.

to help with them missing her, maybe tell her the kids would like to treat her to a picnic at the park, on the weekend or something so they can spend some time together. that would be nice.

Let the kids do something to feel the connection...write e-mails, draw pictures and send. The kids will feel 20 minutes worth of connecting and your sister would have to spend two minutes reading an e-mail and responding. Also, if she does have time to write, she could build them up with comments about how fun it was for her to watch them and how proud she was of their behavior, etc. Once the kids get some kind of closure (with good feelings attached), they'll hang on to those happy thoughts.

Tell her how terribly bad your kids feel with out her and how much they miss her. Tell her that if she could, to stop by before or after work or plan to do something together. Good Luck

Talk to your sister about how the kids miss her. I'm sure she can squeeze in some time at least every other week.

my sister died last saturday, she will find time to be with them, and they will adjust. If thats one thing kids have always been able to do is deal with loss. no matter how severe. let them call her on the phone, write her letters, ect. they will be fine

TELL YOUR SISTER WHAT IS GOING ON. SHE CAN NOT READ YOUR MIND. THEN IT IS UP TO HER TO MAKE TIME TO SEE THE KIDS. MONEY IS AS IMPORTANT AS LOVE. YOU CAN NOT BUY FOOD WITH LOVE. OR PAY THE BILLS WITH IT EITHER.
