I think the beauty pagents where the kids are only allowed to wear age appropriate dresses are fine my 8 year old was in a pagent recently and the rules clearly stated that all dresses had to beatleast knee length and no longer than lower leg, full backed and no off the shoulder, sleeveless or cap sleeved dress allowed. no make up or jewelry other than small earrings was allowed either.These type of pagents are fine but the type where you have to dress your four year old like a hooker are replusive. It is all in what you chose just like everything else in life there is good and bad

i think baby pageants are harmless but when they become the focus of ones life then there's a problem. i have a big problem with the way people dress their children! they are kids let them be kids! they can learn about sex appeal and being attractive when the are adults! childhood is a precious thing to waste cause it only happens once! I am very strict on what my daughter wears and i don't like a lot of what i see in the stores for older children. there is no reason for a CHILD to dress provocatively!

It's just wrong. Think of the feeding into the pedophile pool when they see little children all dressed up and made-up that makes them look like little hookers. Might as well put their addresses on them and sit them out front to be scooped up. Let them be kids as long as possible.

I agree. There's only a short time to be a baby and little kid, why would you want your children to grow up so fast. Most of the people doing this are trashy anyway and just using their kids to get attention themselves. Children are not sexy. Any parent that dresses them up to be should be punished.

They make the kids look like freaks!
I saw a talk show where this lady made her daughter wear 'false teeth' over her real teeth, made her get spray tans, ect...
Can you imagine knowing that you won because you didn't look like yourself??? Or that you lost after all that transformation?? Can you imagine the self-esteem problems they must have?

i agree i think it sets up a ton of self image issues later for the kid the obsess with their looks and weight very unhealthy to push such a distorted image of beauty on a child.
