I need help deciding what to get my friend. She is 21 and she is a very nice christian girl. We aren't dating, but I do like her a lot. I want to get her something nice like a teddybear, but someone from work said that I should make her something and not buy her a bear like anyone else could. Does anyone have any ideas?

Maybe you should make her a nice card, but by her a nice teddybear. Not a cheap one though. show her you care, by getting a soft, plush teddy

I don't know if you have glass yoghurt's tubs where your from (as we don't get them in glass in new zealand) but you do here in France.
So anyway, if you can source them, you'll need about 4 of them (clean and dry)
you'll also need:
sugar (just regular sugar),
glue (that'll stick to glass)
tea light candles (one per tub)
and some really thin ribbon, I've used white and pale yellow, but if you know her favorite color, you could try get it in a very light shade.
And a paint brush would be real handy too

Ok so its real simple. Use a paint brush, to apply glue to the glass. You just need to apply to the outside side and the top of the rim (so just leave the bottom, there's no need. And you don't need to use so much glue, just enough, it doesn't work as well if there is a huge layer of glue. Then all you have to do is sprinkle the sugar onto the glue - don't forget the top of the rim : ) Let it dry/set. One that's done, use the ribbon to tie just below the upper rim.
Voila!

Ok, so its a simple craft, but I'm sure she will love them. That said, if she is a nice as you say, she is really going to love anything you give her a teddy or something handmade! Personally I go all gooey over homemade gifts, some thing about the time and thought put in to it, its very touching.

All the best

Oh, Camilles idea is great as well. ALSO, it is absolutely not necessary to spend lots of money, truly!!

Well a homemade gift if very thoughtful and more personal. If you have any talents that would allow you to make her a special something then go for it. If not then just buy her a present that shows how much you appreciate her friendship, and yes a teddy bear would be cute and appreciated I'm almost sure.

Buy her an original vintage bear. Not some off the shelf model or scungy thing you make. It will show some individuality.

If she is religious, maybe you could find out her favorite exerpt or saying from the bible, her church, a family member, etc. Then you can add scrapbooking items or make it look really nice and frame it. She will know it came from the heart because of your time, effort, and appreciation for her beliefs.
