Yes, let's say LaVeyan Satanist. So the theists here don't think I'm talking about an antichrist. LoL

Yes, I would.

I would be shocked if people wouldn't vote for someone just because of their religion. I hope they're at least willing to admit they're bigoted

The problem, of course, with your question is the premise. There is never any candidate running for president that is almost totally in sync with what this country needs. Why? Because every person's take on "what this country needs" is different. I'm certain that what you believe this country needs is diametrically opposed to what I believe this country needs.

Perhaps a question that gets to the heart of your query is "If there was a candidate running for president who was a Satanist but worked for all of the important issues that you believed in, would you vote for him/her?"

To answer that question, I would have to say that I would have a hard time voting for someone who worships a liar. This would tend to make me believe that they themselves were liars and couldn't be trusted.

In theory, a person's religion should not matter(the whole freedom of religion thing). It would not matter. If this person was a super-genius then it would not matter. I could vote for person like that if they were willing to do what is best for the people and its country(notice how I put people first). Sadly, this is not the case. We still judge our presidents based on foolish things and even when they screw up(like a war) they still manage to get a second chance because they fit a pre-conceived notion of what a president should be. Good question. You have great avatars.

Sure...but from what I know about Satanistic principles, I don't think I would ever agree with them on the policies.

Are you kidding? In a heartbeart. I'm not a Satanist, but I'm familiar with it and I know that they tend to work hard to excel at what they do--not for the reasons most people would, but if they were to throw their energy into fixing up this country and making a name for themselves in the history books, I don't care what their motivations are for doing it.

Well I would not have a problem but I suppose about 70% of the rest of the population would so they would have to lie about being a good Christian and make sure the news shows them going to church on important days like the Clintons did.

Yes, I would in a heartbeat--although a Lavey satanist politician would never admit his religion--it's against the tenets of their faith

In that highly unlikely event...yeah probably, just as long as he didn't try to make it a state religion.
