you mean clear rum? if it is rum that doesn't have an added flavor (coconut, melon, etc.) you can add it to pineapple juice. since the holidays are coming up, you could add it to egg nog if you can stand the brain freezes. simple even yet is dark soda, Dr. Pepper, Coke, Pepsi, etc. If it does have added flavor then go with similiar tastes. if you want something exotic, try to get you hands on passion fruit juice. or if you want a faux tropical drink, slice pineapple in triangles, get a cherry and drop it in the glass. mix a shot of rum in with the juice "Five Alive" chilled of course.

White rum I would stick to fruit type mixes or light cocktails. Maitai, daiquiri, mojito, yellowbird - use fruit juices and white rum. Dark rum is what you use with coke.

Rum is excellent with any type of tropical combo- It is generally associated with the carribbean and so of course pineapple, cococut, and cherries are fun.

If you are making this then go for a theme party-

Snapple Pink Lemonade and lots of ice. Regular, cherry or diet coke. Or you could blend it with coconut ice cream.
