Standard Iced Coffee
STEP 1: Brew a pot of fresh coffee using 2 tablespoons of dark-roasted ground coffee per cup.
STEP 2: Transfer the hot coffee to a carafe or pitcher
STEP 3: Let the coffee stand at room temperature for 3 to 5 hours, or refrigerate it until cold, about 1 1/2 to 3 hours.
STEP 4: Fill a tall glass with ice cubes.
STEP 5: Pour the chilled coffee into the glass.
STEP 6: Stir the coffee to equalize its temperature. Add milk if you like.
Never put a pot of hot coffee directly in the refrigerator. The rapid change in temperature can crack the glass.

Simply make coffee the way you normally do (maybe a little stronger than usual). Pour the coffee into a pitcher filled with ice cubes.

Iced coffee? You brew regular coffee at double strength, then you pour it into a jug filled with ice. Then put it in the fridge and let it chill. Voila! Iced coffee.

I agree, makeing it stronger preserves the caffineness.. and cooling it and adding ice cubes... for flavor... a shot of vanilla or other flavor and put it in a pitcher... a unique beverage hoilday pleaser... even coffee mate has holiday flavors in gingerbread...etc... might be a nice touch.

like a frozen latte? make your coffee. let it cool for about an hour. pour into blender with ice. optional: add favorite flavored creamer, or add kahlua or baileys irish cream. if you don't let it cool for a bit then chances are you are going to shatter your blender glass so be careful.
