Assuming the patient makes a point of waking up as needed to maintain a regular intake rate, she would use 24/4 = 6 tsp = 2 tbsp = 1 fluid ounce per 24 hours.

depending on whether or not the person has a teaspoon to start with or not, either 2.333... tablespoons (7 teaspoons) or 2 tablespoons (6 teaspoons), respectivly.
P.S. This is assuming the patient doesn't sleep 6-8 hours, right?
If not, go with answer one (above).

if its just DM and has nothing but guif. and dextro. in it... dont sweat it. i know people who have drank a 12 ounce bottle every day for almost a year.... its all good.. one guy has a 3.8 GPA as a senior at university of wisconsin madison in engineering. ... my point is.. if u give em an extra 5ml per 24 hours... its not a big deal. ..at all.

I would say 4, if you don't include 8 hours while sleeping.
