Although men considering vasectomies should not think of them as reversible, and most men and their spouses are satisfied with the operation[6] [7], there is a procedure to reverse vasectomies using vasovasostomy (a form of microsurgery). It is, however, not effective in all cases, with the success rate depending on such factors as the method used for the vasectomy and the length of time that has passed since the vasectomy was performed. There is evidence that men who have had a vasectomy produce abnormal sperm, which would explain why even a mechanically successful reversal does not always restore fertility.[8][9]

My husband had a vasectomy right before we married we both thought we didn't want children but after 7 years we changed our minds and had it reversed.

It worked for us and we now have a 3 yr old little girl.

Many reversals work but yet many do not-

If you adopt a child, no uneeded surgery or mishaps, a child gets a home. Its a win win situation. If the vasectomy is reversed, and it works, and you get pregnant, you have just added a child to the world at a cost of about $150,000. Adopt a child and you have helped the child and the world.

Have you thought about adoption? It's probably cheaper and you have a better chance of it working. I was a nanny for a family that adopted 3 girls through open adoption - They are all Very Very happy.
Good Luck!!
