How about a steak Thanksgiving dinner, you can cook it in less time than a turkey and you don't need to worry about what to do with the leftovers.

This is a 'twist' on your standard layered taco dip. You do everything the same except you substitute cooked shrimp for the beef and shrimp cocktail sauce for the taco sauce. You still layer with corn chips, cream cheese, chopped tomato and chopped green pepper. (use a big platter) Bananas sound interesting, by the way but then I'm a fan of peanut butter/banana sandwiches....

I got to tell you....that sounds terrible...but maybe if I liked bananas it would sound better........
I don't know if our family has a dish that nobody has heard of..it's usually just the everyday sort of meal. But I am anxious to see what other people post so maybe we can start a new tradition......thanks for the great question !!!
Happy Thanksgiving !!!!

As long as I can remember, we always had this stuff that my mom called green cloud. It's cottage cheese, green jello powder, crushed pineapple and cool whip all mixed together. Surprisingly good!
