2 tablespoons of butter and flour, 2 cups of milk and 2 cups of cubed cheese. Velveeta works best.

Melt butter, stir in flour until smooth, 1-2 minutes, add milk and cheese and stir on low until melted.

Simple,

Use equal butter to flour and 5 x that in milk.

EG

50 g butter
50 g plain flour
500ml warm milk
(cheese to taste)

melt butter in pan and add when gently bubbling add flour, keep it moving for a minute ot two making sure the butter does not burn (gentle now) the start adding the milk a splash at a time (100ml?) keep adding and cook for 2-3 minutes once all the milk has been added to get rid of the rawness of the flour.

Start Adding cheese, i would say around 250 grams, use mature cheese though/ Mild cheese wont taste of much in that. A combination of cheeses is also good. Cheddar, parmesan, gruyere anything hard really.

OPTION 2 " Easy as"
Add Cheese to single cream until it tastes cheesey enough. Or if you are in the states i think you guys call it heavy cream?

Enjoy.

P.S If you use this and you agree its a good answer please vote me as best answer!! I am dying to get my points up.

With heat?

If you want a recipe -
Ingredients
25g/1oz butter
25g/1oz plain flour
600ml/1 pint milk
salt and white pepper
80g/3oz cheese, grated (e.g. mature cheddar, Gouda, gruyère)

Method
1. Melt the butter in a saucepan.
2. Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes.
3. Take the pan off the heat and gradually stir in the milk to get a smooth sauce. Return to the heat and, stirring all the time, bring to the boil.
4. Simmer gently for 8-10 minutes and season with salt and white pepper.
5. Stir in cheese and allow to melt. Don t re-boil the sauce or it will become stringy.

Melt 2 tablespoons of margarine or butter in a saucepan. Add 2-3 tablespoons of flour. stir in well. Slowly add 1 cup of milk, stirring constantly (a whisk works best). Once the mixture begins to thicken, add 3-4 tablespoons of Cheese Whiz. Stir until completely thickened. Serve immediately.

butter in pan tablespoon or so melt gently . When melted add tablespoon of cornflour and mix to a granular paste . Very carefully and slowly add milk(off the heat) and mix each time so lumps disappear. add approx Half a pint when mixed stir sauce on the heat (ALL THE TIME DO NOT STOP OR GET LUMPS) gratifyingly as sauce gets close to boiling the sauce will thicken. simmer then add lots of strong grated cheese (+ a chunk of mozzarella if you want it stringy and a bit of cream cheese if you want it creamy) add salt and pepper to taste ENJOY

If the sauce is store bought I use a non stick pot, spray with a bit of Pam or something like that, using a very low flame, pour the sauce in, and stir constantly with a wooden or plastic spoon.
