A gift card to his favorite store. A bottle of his favorite drink. Cash that is his to spend on what he wants. Tickets to his favorite sporting events (season tickets if possible). If he likes football, direct Tv's football package. Make his favorite food homemade. Relieve him of some of his hated chores example: promise to mow his yard for the year or for however long, shovel the walk, clean the gutters, paint the house, or hire a handyman to come by once a month, week or what ever to help him out with his "honey do" list. Arrange for him to spend more one on one time with his children or grandchildren.
Hope you find something...we face the same issues. A father-n-law with no real hobbies and he always says he doesn't want anything???

A gift certificate to a store he likes. Or a pair of tickets to his favourite sporting event. If he is a sport nut trust me he'll love this present and you'll end up being his favourite daughter in law. Ha! Merry Christmas.

well, without knowing his likes and dislikes, you could always just do something like a gift card to a restaurant you know he likes...a nice bottle of wine is also always good (go to an upscale place and have someone help you choose a classy wine). If there is a store he frequents a lot, a gift card there....good luck!

How about a gift card for dinner, movies, or take him out for that.
You could also ask him if he needs a personal storage unit at his home for all of his stuff.
