JVC Camcorder GR-DVL25A

Can I use my firewire camera "live"? Or does it only work to capture tape video to computer?

I capture video to my that I have already recorded onto tape).

What I want to know is: can I on the other hand record "live" material? Can I put the camera on record, connect to firewire port and open my software and record? This does not seem to work.

No biggie if this does not work,
just wondering :)

After plugging interior the USB and then turning the digital camera on, if it would not immediately open the device (digital camera), circulate to "my laptop" and double click at thecontinual that exhibits your digital camera. this could open up this technique which you would be certain and acquire the photos with.

I do this with my firewire cam. Can't remember what software I use (I'm at work now), but you can try some of these.

Here's a stand-alone device that will allow the recording of DV avi's directly to a hard drive - but it's not cheap.
