anything is possible with God.

Now you're getting into some deep studies! There is an unmistakable pattern in God's creativity during that week of creation.

DAY 1: Creates light -|- DAY 4: Creates sun, moon, stars
DAY 2: Divides water between earth and sky -|- DAY 5: Creates swimming and flying animals
DAY 3: Dry land, pause, then plants -|- DAY 6: Land animals, pause, then people

If you want an interesting reading on this, which shows how God gave a prophecy through these creations, I've seen a neat article here: http://www.mundall.com/erik/creation.htm

Of course, God certainly knew what people would say in the future regarding each day of creation being a great expanse of time--and I think this helps to put that to silence, considering the plants could hardly have lived 1000 years without sunshine.

He didn't create plants before the sun.

The light was visible, but the sun wasn't. You might consider the way Venus looks, totally cloud covered. You might even consider our own oceans. The sun is visible at some depths, yet light shines through and plants grow.

By the way, Genesis 1:1 says In the beginning God created the Heavens (SUN, moon, stars, etc.) and earth.

Just a comment on Harpertara. I am aware of no "literal scientific truth". Everything that I know about science suggests that it changes and adapts as new knowledge becomes available.
But, considering that those poor, dumb shepherds knew and wrote down the exact order of the creation of things that 'science' does agree on (let's see, universe first {big bang}, land and water, plants, then animals, then man) seems pretty amazing to me.

God created plants before light, but He was there and remember He is light. Look at the sun for 5 minutes and you will get an idea of what God is like (although I don't recommend that you do.)

What! Maybe I am remember wrong, but I thought the sun and moon got created on the 4th day and plants and animals on the 5th and humans on the 6th...
In any case, please remember this is only a creation myth, NOT the literal scientfic truth. This was written thousands of years before science understood the process of the development of life on this planet.
Now, I am not saying God had nothing to do with it, but I AM saying that God obeyed the laws of nature which he created in the first place and that the tribal people who wrote the creation story had no knowledge of how these laws worked (and still work)

I'm an atheist, BUT I think Genesis SAYS he created light. So there was light- the fact of there being a sun or not is irrelevant if there is some light to sustain these created plants.

He didn't. If you look closely at the first 2 verses of Genesis chapter one, you will notice that the earth and the other heavenly bodies were created before the first "day" started. They could have been in existence for millions of years. The 6 creative "days" were vast periods of time that Jehovah used to prepare the EARTH for human habitation. They had nothing to do with the creation of the "heavens and the earth."

That is a tricky one! If you are an intellectual, then, there is definitely an error of arrangement and the write got it all missed-up. Here is another miss-up to spice your day: God created Adam and Eve, they eat the fruit of "knowledge". God got annoyed, he sent them parking from the beautiful garden. They went ahead unremorseful and had two sons. Cain killed Abel. A sign was put on Cain so that he can be identified after he was sent to the land of Moria. The question who are the people that need to identify him, and who populated the land he was sent to.....? However, if you believe in miracle, that is one of the first miracle performed by God. Smashing! But remember, God is all powerful, think about this.

He is God. He can create plants out of nothing, but somehow forgot to create the sun first and your powers of logic have ferreted this out and PROVEN ONCE AND FOR ALL TIME that the bible is wrong.

Awsome. Wow...

How: hes God and has omnipotence
It doesnt say why

plus he created light first, and plants can survive a day without sunlight.
btw for the person above me, God cannot do everything. God cannot lie, stop being God, etc.
