Figure out the surface area A1 of the uncut box. You will be making two cuts to divide the box into 3 pieces which adds 4 new surfaces. Calculate their area A2. From A1 and A2, figure out the total surface area P to be painted in cm^2. Figure out the number N of 1x1x1 cm cubes you can cut a 7x6x5 cm box into. The total area of the little cubes is 6*N, and the unpainted area is 6*N-P cm^2.

enable length, L = 3 x Breadth, B = 2 x and top, H = x finished component of four partitions = 2 (L × H) + 2(B × H) = 2 × 3x × 2 x + 2 × 2 x × x = 12 x^2 + 4 x^2 = sixteen x^2 New length, L = 3 x /2 Breadth, B = 2 x / 2 = x and top, H = x × 2 = 2 x finished component of four partitions = 2 (L × H) + 2(B × H) = 2 × 3 x / 2 × x + 2 × x × 2 x = 3 x^2 + 4 x^2 = 12 x^2 New section / old section = 12 x^2 / sixteen x^2 = 3 / 4 New section is 3 / 4 component of old.
