Gastric problems can have a myriad of symptoms. Has she been diagnosed by a physician? That is very important to have done to prevent further injury to the GI tract.
Some things to avoid with gastric problems: alcohol is the number one culprit in GI problems, tobacco is a major irritant to the lining of the GI tract, aspirin is an acid (acetylsalicylic acid)and is absorbed through the lining of the stomach (along with alcohol) and can cause problems.
Is there any sign of blood in the stool? It would have a dark, tarry appearance and would indicate upper GI bleeding (quite serious).
Try to eat smaller meals more often as compared to three large meals per day. Also, no eating for at least three hours prior to going to bed. The GI tracts ability to process food is diminished whn laying down and this will cause pain and thus prevent a good nights sleep.
Please see a GI doctor though as this board is not an alternative to proper diagnosis and treatment.

Please you have to consult a doctor first to rule out any problems and get a proper diagnostic..Self medication is dangerous.. The back pain is due to accumulation of gastric fluids due to fasting or over acidity. Yes at night it becomes more pronouced..
But having myself got this problem all i can tell that your wife should avoid any acidity or spices in food.. that is any tangy juice or sauce..lemon and oranges are absolute no no.. Have cold milk to soothe the stomach and eat mild warm soup ..cabbage soup is healing but without any spice or tomatoes..
And do consult the doctor without any delay.. Hope she will be allright..

Masturbation is not connected to any part of your gastric system. Please go and see your doctor as soon as possible about the gastric problem. It may become serious.

It sounds like a hiatus hernia, but don't take my word for it, have it checked by a professional. Advise her to lie on her left side in bed because that will prevent the contents of the stomach entering the esophagus.
I have acid reflux, similar symptoms.

Most of the gastric problems start when the food is not digested properly.Let her try some enzyme tablets to get immediate relief, because we eat lot of carbs and our digestive system do not produce sufficient enzymes to digest it

It sounds like a serious condition. She needs to go to a doctor.
It could be gall bladder or stones or something worse.
