Deployed OEF-7 Afghanistan. Thanx a lot. Everyone stateside please eat a wonderful dinner, burp eat dessert, burp watch football, burp make a turkey sandwich, and have a beer for me. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving. And if you get up early enough watch the parade. If you have never been deployed you will probably never understand what you take for granted. I know I didn't. Happy Holidays.

Big Dave,
No you are not. By that statement you're a leg, coward who enjoys the freedoms vets have fought to give you while mocking them.
Big Dave,
Again you are wrong. I didn't vote for him. But almost four years ago he had the support from most of the country. That is neither here nor there. You questioned and ridiculed those nice sentiments directed at our troops. That is the issue numbnuts. The fact that you are a coward who wouldn't say a word in the face of any of these troops (who are only doing their job, putting their lives on hold and sacrificing them at the same time) lest you get your teeth knocked out little man. Now just sit at home in your easy chair this Thanksgiving, eating your turkey and watching football while real Americans fight for your right to do so.

That's a really nice thought....we should ALL be sending our prayers to our troops. War is extremely, EXTREMELY, tough at any time for many reasons, one of which is being away from the security and love of family and friends. But at holiday time it is really rough. We should all take a step back, think about how we would feel...thousands of miles away from home, in horrendous conditions, fighting a war, no idea when we will come home or IF we will come home.....very sad. Everyone needs to go to the store in the next couple days, fill up a "love box" with socks, powdered drinks, beef jerky, chapstick, disposable razors, and other goodies...you can contact your local military recruiter or Nat'l Guard Post to find out what else is needed.....and how it should be addressed, and send it with a message of thanks, love and best wishes. Don't wait...do it today! I know, I know, we're all so busy getting ready for our holiday...just take some time for our troops. You won't believe how much it will mean to them!

Thank you, I appreciate your comments and so do my brothers and sisters in arms.
Big Dave, I have said to you before what has needed to be said. You are a pathetic little excuse of an American, and all I can say is Canada is north, Mexico is south. Take your pick but you don't need to stay here if you hate our way of life so much. I enjoyed fighting for those who deserve a life better, and while ya sit there half naked, eating chips off your chest and playing halo 2 or here on answers it wouldn't hurt you to recongnize those who gave you that freedom.
Silky, .....my setiments exactly, Happy Thanksgiving.

I will never forget my first Christmas in W. Germany. Thousands of miles away, 19 years old, wondering what in the h*ll I'd gotten myself into. All the cards & goodies I got from my family & friends back here in the States made it all worthwhile, though. And I would do it again in a heartbeat. And I can celebrate with my family, knowing that it's all made possible by the ones who went before me & the ones who serve today.
God Bless our troops, past present, & future!

Thank you for your holiday greeting, I wish you the same in return. I am currently deployed as part of the 172D Stryker Brigade, and have been in Iraq for 16 months. We are finally getting ready to go home! I won't make it in time for Thanksgiving, but should be home for my anniversary, so I am happy.
