This is so-and-so. We do such-and-such together.

Much more informative.

Why are you so worried about it? Just say friend. Then if she gets dramatic and asks "Hey, are you really my friend?" or something then just dodge the question with something witty like "Well, you're not my enemy are you?"

Or introduce her by relation "This is my cousin's friend." "This is my friend's girlfriend." or use something more informal "This is my homegirl." or "This is one of my girls."

Worst case scenario, introduce her by name only. "This is [name]" and then explain how you met when someone asks how you two know each other.

Just introduce the person by name. Or just say sometimes you hang out.

I say this is someone I know but don't really know.
