Its true. When I was little my mom always let my hair grow down to my butt. After we moved to Tucson she cut it all off. I was having super bad headaches all the time and it was so hot there it made everything that much worse. My hair is super thick also. I keep it cut pretty short now and I have to thin it all the time, but I don't feel hot and I don't have the headaches anymore

absolutely it can make your head hurt. Espically if your hair is thick. And think about all that weight hanging down your back. It definatly can make your head hurt.

You don't have to get it all cut off, I would suggest taking off 3 or 4 inches (not as much as it sounds). See if the headaches don't get a little better. If they aren't, go back in 2 or 3 weeks, get another 2 or 3 inches off.

Hair grows on an average of 1/2" per month. More if your brush or massage your scalp alot. I hope this helps!!!

it might be a cause of having headaches. IF you tie it up alot really tight--it will give u headaches. Therefore, you should use those claw clips or just not tie them into polytails all the time. I used to have long hair, and it does feel a lot lighter after I got the haircut. But, there is not a reason to chop all your hair off.

Is your hair also really thick? If it is then yes, its probably your hair giving you the headaches. You don't need to cut all of your hair off, but just shorten it up some and give it some layers. Ask the stylist to thin it out for you too. That will take some weight out without taking length off.

long hair makes your head hurt if you wear it up alot or you might be gettin headaches from other problems like if your stressed or you may have the disease sleep apnea that gives you headaches you will probly have sleep apnea if you have the symptoms of sleepiness and headaches alot and snoring alot you shouldnt cut your hair if you dont want to and until you find out if that is really the problem

This is quite true. Even just adding some medium to long layers would help reduce the weight. However headaches can be symptoms of other things, so if they are truly bothering you I would see a doctor as well.

My best friend has that same problem. When she starts getting the headaches, she gets a cut. Apparently, hair weighs more than we think it does.

I had hair down to my waist, and I got it chopped down to a boy cut. When I got it cut, I didn't know how much my head and neck had hurt all the time from the extra weight, and I was surprised at how easy it was to turn my head. so, from personal experience, it could be your hair. If you want to keep long hair, try getting it cut to just below the collar bone.

I don't think that is true. I have long hair and it is thick and it doesn't cause headaches for me. Maybe you should see a doctor to find out why you are having headaches.
