Heres the info I found:
Turkey burgers can vary quite a bit. If they are made from all-white meat there is significantly less fat than the "lean" ground turkey, which includes dark meat and still has quite a bit of fat. LIkewise, burgers vary in calories based on what kind of ground beef is used (% fat content). For an honest comparison, look up ground beef and compare it with ground turkey, using the fat percents you purchase.
Also: I wanted to add, since the words above are not mine, only sited, that any potato at all is a bad diet idea--they are the worst of carbs to consume. A salad or something of the like--a veggie is always better ( I am a survivor of the carb diet, I lost 46 lbs. 2 yrs ago and never gained them back after going off ALL pasta, potatoes, and anything else carb wise for 6 months, but eat like hell now!!!)

Turkey IS lower fat than hamburger, unless the ground turkey had the skin and fat added back while being ground. Hopefully any kind of burger is a once a week treat.
As long as she has included her fries & burger's calories in her plan for the day, she should be fine. It is the calories consumed and the calories burned that make the difference in reducing.

These burger patties are about 1/2 or more lower in fat than a beef burger, so she is on the right track with her diet. You should try one. There not bad, and it cost less than beef. You can also buy ground chicken and make burgers with that as well, but the turkey is still lower in fat.

turkey burgers are better
leaner
white meat as opposed to fatty red beef
the fries are the killer though
and how big is the bun
also if she buys prerepared frozen turkey burgers
the are a lot of preservatives in them
better to use fresh ground turkey
i guess it's better than eating it with a beef burger

Actually it depends on the turkey and what percentage of fat. Just like beef, turkey burger has different percentages so a 97% fat free turkey burger would be better than 85% fat free hamburger. Also every little bit helps so might want to lay off her.

Both ground turkey and beef are available 97% fat free. The only problem with that is it doesn't taste as good as a burger with more fat in it. Therefore we tend to add more condiments to spark the taste. BTW, I used to be able to get hamburger meat that was fortified with soy extender. It was a low fat alternative to regular hamburger meat. I liked it as it had a nutty flavor, but it disappeared from the market. Your friend might try a soy bean product called "Boca burger", sold in the fresh produce area of your supermarket. It is low fat and intended for vegetarians. It's supposed to taste like beef. I haven't tried it yet, but will.

Turkey burgers are pretty good, besides being healthy. They aren't so greasy as a hamburger. Hope her fries were a small or that she is just trying to eat a little healthier.

most hamburgers are made with 70% lean beef, while turkey can be upwards of 97% lean. the mustard is fine, but the fries are a diet killer. replacing the fries with a salad or baked potato will help cut more fat and calories from her meal.

Turkey is much higher in protien and has almost 0 fat. Where the problems come in to play is the condiments that are chosen. Other than that turkey (ground or other wise) is a very healthy food. I prefer to eat fresh, not store bought, turkey.
