Yes. You'll need to go to the doctor to get the correct antibiotic. Last middle ear infection I had I was given antibiotic ear drops instead of pills and it worked great!

Yes! ear infection can cause the lymph nodes to swell. Sometimes takes ages to clear it up yet antibotics are about the only thing that works. One thing you need to know though is that you have to know for the antibotics to work properly you have to carefully take them as prescribed. Take the entire percription even if the problem is seemingly cleared up. Don't stop taking them till you have finished all the pills. If there is any infection left at the site it will come back a different stain & you will need different antibotics for the strain will be resistant to the antibotics you were taking. Don't consume alcohol either this weakens the effects of the medicine. Maddening thing isn't it.

If antibiotics are not helping, you may need some further tests, to rule out something more serious. Yes, ear infections can cause your lymph nodes to swell, but they should respond to antibiotics.
Keep going to the doctor until you get an answer. Changes doctors if you have to.
Here's a site where you can see if you have any other symptoms:

Not trying to scare you, but I started with only one swollen lymph node.
Best wishes

Yes it could. Cipro might help, but you are going to have to get a prescription medication to do any good. A good ear doctor should have been able to have prescribed something.
