No way is writing a letter desperate! Though it does depend on what and how you say it. If you felt the interview didn't go as well as you'd hoped, sending the right kind of letter can't make it any worse, and has potential to make you stand out a lot better. You want to stand out and win the job, right? Focus on the positives in your letter though. Say what you really liked about the business, the role and the value you believe you can bring. Talk about the business not the interview. I've been recruiting for more years than I care to remember. Good, experienced recruiters (hopefully this guy is one of those) know that interviews make people nervous and try to look beyond the interview situation to how you would do in the role. However you decide to approach it, be open, be honest, be you. That's what you'll have to be to truly deliver in the role and enjoy what you do. Good luck.

Well he's your ex for a reason, what you should do is back off a bit, if it's meant to be, he will come around, then all your doubts will be erased, let him, go a bit, it's hard, but it's the right thing to do

Certainly you should get in contact with him via text, e-mail or however and explain to him that you somehow need to get some closure to this relationship. As such you need to know his feeling so you can move on.

Maybe he hasn't checked his e-mail yet. Not everyone checks it on a regular basis.
