I am married to a man who's 8 years younger than I am. We got together with the intention of going out to dinner and seeing where it went from there and.... after a few months we fell in love. I made it VERY CLEAR right away that I was not looking for a fly by night fling. I do know how you're feeling though - because I was VERY reluctant to go out with him. I wondered how mature he'd be and I was really done with dating games by that point, I wanted a serious relationship. We dealt with a lot of crap from his family not taking us seriously because they thought I was looking to have babies and get married. (I don't have children, don't want them). Really what I wanted was a good man who would treat me right and it just so happened he was the one. Age difference or not, he turned out to be a great guy and an even better husband. You should give him a chance, if you think he's worth it! You may be missing out on someone wonderful. Don't let that happen just due to an age difference.

go out with him, what could it hurt? Just make sure he doesn't get everything that first time. That way you know whether it is a fling or not. he will come back if he really likes you. I am 26 and i try to stay away from 20 year olds. It is usually nothing more than a little bit of fun with a lot of drama. But who knows, it may work for you!

Do you like him? Yes or No. You don't go out with a guy because he persists. Do you want to get involved with him? If yes, give it a try with the risk that he my not be as mature as you are or just want to try an older girl. But at least, you will figure what that's all about.
Good luck

It sounds like you are uncomfortable at the thought of going out with a younger guy. I can see where you're coming from. However, he may truly care for you, regardless of the age difference, and that should be all that matters. Give him a chance.

Do you feel he is genuine about his interest in you, and likes you for you? If you aren't convinced, tell him very firmly that you don't want to go out with him and explain your stand. At the same time be nice so he isn't hurt too badly. Most men don't take rejection very well.

Hey Crazy Heart if it feels good I say go for it. 6 years at your age is pretty significant but in reality you'll never know if it might be real or not if you don't give it a try. Good luck and Merry Christmas.

I think you should go out with him and just see how it goes. it doesn't matter how old he is as long as you get along and want to be together and it's not like you have to sleep with him if you don't want too!
