First go to the dermatologist so you can find out what chemical in hair dye it is that you are allergic to. It could be ammonia or one of the many others in the dyes you have been using. I am sure there are many people like you that have the same problem so I would think companies have developed dyes to cater to your allergies. Or go to a salon and ask your hair stylist if she/he can get or if she/he already has a dye with less intense chemicals.

I would sugest going to an Aveda Salon their hair dye is 97% natural. I worked at an Aveda salon and I knew of women who were very allegic but could tollerate this dye. Make sure that you mention this to the stylist before you do it and maybe they could do a strand test to see how you react. Definately check it out.

Have you tried veggie hair dyes?
These condition the hair as they dye, last approx 3-6 weeks depending on condition of your hair etc and as they dont have harmful chemicals like other dyes people are less likely to have allergic reactions to them.
You can see a list of all the ingredients here:

If she is healthy then its probably nothing. You might try giving her a little less milk each day by now she only needs about 16 ounces. Milk is very filling but I would not think that 24oz would be filling enough for her to be not eating anything. You definently did the right thing by taking her to the doctor. I hope everything works out. Megan

okay..... no veggie hairdye.

go to your stylist. tell her your allergic. what we can do is foils. You can put dye on foils. We can also put lightener on foils. it get's close enough to the scalp to cover grey, yet it doesn't touch the scalp so it won't hurt you or cause an allergic reaction.

We can do Highlights (take your hair lighter) or Low Lights (take your hair darker). I deal with clients on a regular basis who have exteremly sensitive scalps. This is not a big deal. Good luck, let me know if you neee more help!!!!

Try henna. It's a natural dye that you might be able to to tolerate.
