Well here's an answer you would never expect, straight from the mouth of the man who created the term "Big Bang," Professor Sir Fred Hoyle.
Prof.Sir Fred Hoyle was a family friend for many years, and his sister still is.
Bouncing a small boy on his knee, the child asked him, "Fred, do you believe in God?"
Hoyle thought for a few moments, and said, "Well, when I look through a telescope, I don't see much evidence of God, so I can't believe in him, but I'll tell you what I do believe in."
"What?" The small boy asked.
"I believe in Dan Dare!" Hoyle replied, and then burst out laughing.
(Dan Dare was a space-character in the boy's comic "The Eagle")
Of course, Prof Sir Fred Hoyler never did believe in the 'Big Bang,' he just coined the phrase. He remained a proponent of the "Steady State Theory" until his dying day, and he still has followers to-day.
I'm no astro-physicist, but even some of the 'Big Bang' theorists now admit that there may have been more than one 'Big Bang' and possible parallel universes, which 'flip over' from time to time.
I suppose it's all about mathematics and probability, but if the truth be known, both the religious folk and the atsronomers know how to tell a good story, even if they can't properly prove it.
You are free to believe what you like, but others are equally free not to like what you believe.
PS:
What is it about religious people?
They come on here and tell us a load of tosh written by scientifically ignorant people who were little more than soothsayers, which they are obviously gullible enough to believe.
They then tell us that what they believe is truth, when in point of fact, they haven't a clue and not a shred of evidence.
God spare is from religion.

It's not that one is any 'better' than the other, it's just the source of evidence. While God proponents cite the Bible, big bang theorists cite actual physical evidence. Now I know that sounds a little harsh. But the Bible has never been shown to be anything more than an ancient conglomeration of stories and alleghory. So, with that being said I do find the big bang theory to be more compelling, but almost equally as unproven. There are now theories of an oscillating universe, and still newer ones of time and space survivng through the big bang. So evidently we have very little figured out. But to just stop and say 'well God did it because the Bible says so' is just childish.

I think we need to get away from the idea of a point of creation and start questioning whether the universe has always existed. Science at the present time can't say there was a starting point for the universe because that would require a theory of quantum gravity so in discussing the big bang you are employing conjecture on an event that cannot be verified by available evidence. That's why I don't bother considering the big bang theory-I would tend to favour the idea that the universe has always existed until science has the means to prove otherwise.

First of all, The big bang model is a model of the expansion of the observable universe, for which there is abundant evidence. It has nothing to do with any "Creation" . No "Creation" has ever been observed. All we ever see are things changing form, we have never ever seen anything really created from nothing. We have evidence for the Big Bang model ( which is well documented elsewhere so I won't dwell on it here). There does not seem to be any credible evidence for any god. Sorry, If I don't regard talking animal books as credible evidence.

In the beginning there was nothing - and it exploded. And they claim that creationism is nonsense.
The bible gives two conflicting accounts of how the universe came about. Big bang is another approach to understanding something that happened on an unimaginable scale long before we were here.
Neither provides a very satisfactory answer to what was here immediately beforehand. And neither proves or disproves the existence of God.

God was never created, he is the creator, he has always been there. God created the Big Bang.
"Do not the unbelievers see that the heavens and the earth were joined together as one unit of creation, before We clove them asunder?" (Ch:21,Ver:30).
The claim has also been made that the Qur'an describes an expanding universe:
"The heaven, We have built it with power. And verily, We are expanding it." (Ch:51,Ver:47).
Parallels with the Big Crunch and an oscillating universe have also been suggested: "On the day when We will roll up the heavens like the rolling up of the scroll for writings, as We originated the first creation, (so) We shall reproduce it; a promise (binding on Us); surely We will bring it about." (Ch:21,Ver:104).

i'm specific God created the Earth, and that the Bible is trustworthy. i haven't studied the priority adequate, nevertheless, as to tell if the Earth exchange into created in 6 days or God created the vast Bangs. There are arguments from Christians in the two area, yet there are different matters plenty greater suitable for me on the time. Like a thank you to stay a life which glorifies God, being freed from sin, etc. possibly sooner or later i could have time as to look at this in a greater deeply way.

i was watching some phisics videos about narutal laws and one of the scientifics said that he found hard to believe about the bing bang, because it would destroy the string theory, which until now has been tried to prove...
I think its easier to believe in God, it makes more sence...i mean..look at this exemple:
You wanna buy a clock, so u go to the store, and somebody tell u, i think this watch was made magicly, by a cosmic energy that brough all the pieces together... well..if u think about it..it might be possible if u consider a elecromagnetic pulse atracting them or something, but still..the probability that it brough the pieces all together perfectly...its really small...in the other hand...u are told that this extrange men came and made the watch...and nobody knows how, why, or when....
so..who would u believe?...u cant prove either one..cant u?...u just have to believe one ;)
until one theory is proven or the other is found to be false u cant say that any of them are right or wrong...its logic ;)
cyah...

Have you ever thought that they both created each other? What ever caused the big bang, could have caused the start of God at the same time, and the two happened as a result of each other

Science does not pretend to know what happened before the Big Bang; but the best theory put forth thus far says that the laws of physics were likely so different that there is (currently) no way to hypothocize what reality resembled before that.
