What is a christians in ur opinion??..what are they beliefs??...i think the problem in this place is that people [non-christians generally] just say that we all believe in hell..or we all believe in ...whatever its...
I'm a christian...i believe that God sent his Son to eath...i dont believe in hell [show me in the bible a place that says that we actually "LIVE" after we die?], i believe that people shouldnt confess to people about sins that commited against God, because they [priest] are only humans, and not better than anybody else, i think you can get to heaven by just having faith in him...i dont pray to the virguin mary, or any statue or none-living thing, i believe that people should be respected, no matter what religion they have, but i love talking to people from different cultures and religions, because sometimes they might seem that they know more than we do...and now is my question...do u still think that we're all the same?...what is a christian in ur opinion?

A Christian is a follower of Christ. A Christian learns how to live for Christ through God's Word, the Holy Bible.
Generally, Christian beliefs are:
We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.
We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in his virgin birth, in his sinless life, in his miracles, in his vicarious and atoning death through his shed blood, in his bodily resurrection, in his ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in his personal return in power and glory.
We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful man regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
Now, as to Hell, you simply must read your Bible. Jesus spoke of it quite often. The word He used was "Gehenna," which means "Valley of (the sons of) Ben Hinnom." At the time of Jesus, this was a perpetually burning dump located outside the walls of Jerusalem, which painted a vivid picture of the doom awaiting the unregenerate.
You asked for verses, so here are some:
"So if your right eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one of your members than to have your whole body thrown into hell." (Matthew 5:29)
"So if your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life injured than to have two hands and go to hell, to the fire that cannot be put out. In that place, worms never die, and the fire is never put out." (Mark 9:43-44)
"Anyone whose name was not found written in the Book of Life was thrown into the lake of fire." (Revelation 20:15)

Well, if you believe the Bible you know that it takes more than faith to be saved. We must also show forth good works, because it is by our works the Lord will know us. I also don't believe in a hell per se, but think we each can create our own personal hell; we create habits or additictions which cannot be satisfied after this life, the unsatisfaction of which will potentially make us crazy/create our hell. I also agree the most important person we should be confessing our sins to is God. I have studied many religions and cultures and ended up deciding on one, but it is up to everyone to find their truth. Good luck.

As a christian, I believe in 1 God. Jesus was crucified for the worlds sins. There is a heaven and a hell. Hell is where the devil and his followers go until they are put to spiritual death in the lake of fire. I believe in loving all people, forgiving all people, confessing sins to people I trust, so they can pray for me, surrendering my life go God, and fellowship with other members of God's church. I am supposed to minister to others, but if they refuse to listen, then I say, have a nice day, and move on. I believe in free will, and that I have no place to judge anyone.

A Christian is a person that believes in the divinity of Jesus Christ.
By the way, Catholics do not confess to a Priest, we confess to God through the Priest. We do not worship Mary, she is not a part of God, although we do honor her as the mother of Jesus. Catholics do not worship statues either.
You might brush up on Catholicism before condemning it! I did and actually became Catholic after studying the truth. Either way it is not beneficial to anyone, and makes no argument to mis-represent other people's faith.
Peace, and may God Bless you!

A Christian is a person who believes and follows the Bible's commandments as outlined by Jesus while on earth and confirmed by the apostles and the governing body of that time. Your beliefs closely match mine (aside from the belief in going to heaven).

Greetings. Good beginning in InterFaith Studies. Seek and you shall find. May reconsider that " without supporting- good- deeds, faith alone is a hollow proclamation". And that a belief in the Life after death on Earth is a noble beginning to complete the faith.

A real Christian, in my humble opinion, is a person who attempts to live their life as Jesus did. Who tries, to the best of their ability, to look upon the world through the eyes of Jesus and behave in the same fashion. They meet everyone with the same heightened respect and help whenever possible and whenever able. They don't simply speak his words, they live his words.
I am not a Christian and have only met one or two real ones in my lifetime. When I have, I have felt nothing but the greatest love and respect for them. To date, I have yet to find a real Christian, by my definition, here at Yahoo Answers. One who is non judgmental and tries to live their life as Jesus did.

My answer is simple:
I am still, after all my research and the cynicism it has brought, a Christian; however, I now consider myself more aligned with the heretical Gnostic traditions of Christianity. For the sake fulfilling my role as promotor fidei, I take many different approaches in an attempt to jar the conscience of the reader to view typical and tribal religious expression in an alternate light. Not everything is as cut and dried as you may have been lead to believe; as Shakespeare's Hamlet said, "There are more things in heaven and Earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy."

Jesus said:
Luke 16:23-24 "And in Hades he lifted up his eyes, being in torment, and saw Abraham far away, and Lazarus in his bosom. 24 "And he cried out and said, 'Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool off my tongue; for I am in agony in this flame.'"
Jesus said:
Matthew 8:11-12 "And I say to you, that many shall come from east and west, and recline at the table with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven; 12 but the sons of the kingdom shall be cast out into the outer darkness; in that place there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth."
Need more? Just ask.
