It's a comforting thought--sometimes more creepy than comforting, depending upon who it is--but I don't really believe it. As Black Parade Billie wrote above, I honor the memory of those who have passed by living the best life I can and working to forward those worthy causes they championed while living.

No. Immortality of the soul is not taught in the Bible, despite it being a common belief amongst Christendom's religions.

Absolutely, and I also believe that they can interact with us and help us if we ask.

In voodoo and hoodoo, you can ask the spirits, including those who you are related to, to help you with the trials and tribulations of life. Generally, you are expected to reciprocate the favor, usually by offering something to them....a gift of money, perfume, food, etc, left at the grave or on your prayer altar.

No, not really. I'll talk about the concept of "going to heaven" but I don't believe there really is such a place.

If we do have such a thing as a soul, it probably just disappears when our body dies.

No, because they are dead. The only way to believe they are "watching" you is if you accept the doctrine of immortality of the soul which I do not.

No I don't. For one thing, it's obvious, even if you believe they do, they certainly dont have much conact with us nor can they protect us much. For another thing, if they could see us from Heaven, it certainly wouldnt be eternal peace being able to watch us in trouble, especially if they can't do much to help.

I believe they look down and help us through rough times. Have you ever read lovely bones?? It really makes you think.

To a point, yes. I'm sure they can watch us (if they have the time). But there's not much they can do for us. However there are "guardian angels" that do help us.

No, I don't. But I try to remember them and honor them by doing things in their name - that would make them proud. Or carry on for a cause they believed in (donate money or time to something they supported).
